| He recently completed a surgical fellowship in joint reconstruction in the renowned Rorabeck-Bourne Joint Replacement Unit in the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He has worked in the prestigious North American establishment, known for both its pioneering and state-of-the-art work in joint replacements. The primary scope of his work there was in the field of revision and complex hip and knee replacement surgery. Prior to that, he also completed a surgical fellowship in joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery in Sydney, Australia, in 2007, earning himself the distinction of dual credential of having worked in two of the demanding joint replacement practices in the world. |

Dr. Ariaretnam is proficient in the entire spectrum of surgical treatment options for knee and hip arthritis, including resurfacing hip arthroplasty, alternate hip bearings and stem options of both cemented and cementless varieties as well as revision hip surgery. In the knee, he performs unicompartmental replacements, both mobile and fixed bearing as well as patellofemoral replacements, primary as well as revision knee replacements. He is competent in the use of computer-navigation as well as patient-specific instruments. |

| He is willing to accept referrals and provide opinion for post-operative pain and stiffness as well as infection complicating joint replacement surgery, having published and presented on the topic of infection prevention and treatment in joint replacement at international meetings and journals. |
