Interventional cardiology (treatment of coronary blockages by balloons and stents) has been his primary interest and coronary intervention has been his forte. Recently, with the availability of drug eluting stents, which are better than ordinary stents, there has been even more interest in interventional cardiology. |

He continues to have a keen interest in clinical research and is the principal investigator in the international multi-centre ONTARGET
/ TRANSCEND trial. |
