| Mr. Parameshwaran had his medical education in the University of Malaya. After graduation, he worked as a Medical Officer in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery for 8 years. |

In 1990, he returned to University of Malaya to continue his post-graduate education in Orthopaedic Surgery. |
| |
| In 1994, he obtained his Masters Degree in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was then posted as the State Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Malacca General Hospital. |
| |
| In 1998, he went for a year fellowship attachment in spinal surgery at Edinburgh, Scotland. On returning, he resigned from government service to start his private practice at Gleneagles Medical Centre as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (with special interest in spinal surgery). |
| |
| Mr. Parameshwaran is fluent in the English, Malay and Tamil languages. He is married with two children. In his spare time, he is involved in social and welfare activities. |
