| Dr. Lai is a general ophthalmologist with a special interest in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He graduated from the medical faculty of the University of Malaya in 1980 and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1985. |

He was formerly the Head of Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Malaya and was responsible for setting up the postgraduate Masters of Ophthalmology Course for the same university. |

He has been in private practice for the past 11 years. His practice involves vitreo-retinal, corneal, cataract and glaucoma surgeries. |
