| Dr. Chiah did his basic medical degree in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He later obtained his postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, United Kingdom. |

Dr. Chiah started his paediatric training in Hospital Kangar. Subsequently, he served in Hospital Seberang Jaya. He has experience in managing a wide range of paediatric illnesses. He received an Excellence Service Award in 2004 from the Ministry of Health. |

| Dr. Chiah also has experience in looking after premature babies, including those requiring intensive care and ventilation. He keeps himself up-to-date by attending courses and conferences. |

| He enjoys reading and swimming. He is married with one son. |
